FORUM COORDINATOR CHARGED FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND INTIMIDATION

The Coordinator, PHCN STAFF FORUM, Kaduna Mr. Stanley Ilumah was yesterday docked at the Customary Court I Tudun Wada Kaduna for criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation and defamation of character of Moses Amedu and Ali Sikamta Mishelinga.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Nanjul Amos who read the charges to the hearing of the accused (Stanley Ilumah) informed the court that the above offences contravenes sections 96, 398 and 391 of the penal code of northern Nigeria respectively. The plea of the accused was taken and denied the charges.
Consequently, in his submission, the counsel to the defendant and PHCN STAFF Forum, Barrister Suleiman Rufai prayed the court to grant his client bail. The Honourable Judge, IbrahimTitus Jujas granted the application and accused bail accordingly.

Selected members of the Forum were on hand in solidarity with the coordinator. Solidarity songs erupted after the release of the coordinator signaling the resolve to continue to fight on till victory is achieved.
The plaintiffs had no legal representation in court. An executive of the National Union of Electricity Employees who arrived the court after the proceedings looked befuddled, ruffled and bewildered. A member of the Forum who craved anonymity said he confessed that he did not know, this issue will get to this level. The case was adjourned to 1st September, 2016 for further hearing.
