Barcelona, Real Madrid to tour Nigeria

Football loving Nigerians have been promised a huge prospect of

the Spanish La Liga big guns, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid
visiting the country on a playing tour in a no distant time.
President of La Liga, Javier Tebas gave the assurance over the
weekend in Abuja during the official opening of the Nigeria La
Liga office

The new office which has a full compliment of both Nigerian
and Spanish staff is part of the collaborative agreement
between the League Management Company of Nigeria (LMC)
and the Spanish league organizers.

Tebas said the bilateral agreement will be a win win venture for
both countries because there will always be one thing or the other
the two leagues can learn and gain from each other.
He noted that Nigerian players have been plying their trade in
Spain for a long time adding that with this relationship, it only
means that more Nigerians will be gracing the turfs of various
clubs in La Liga.
The La Liga boss further stated that the already scheduled game
between the Nigerian Premier League stars with their Spanish
counterparts next week in Spain is part of the dividends of the
mutual relationship which he added will afford both sides to learn
one thing or the other from the encounter.
In his own remarks, Chairman of the LMC and first vice president
of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mallam Shehu Dikko
said they chose the La Liga because it is the best league in the
world and that Nigeria stands to learn a lot from them.
According to him, the effort of making Nigeria be like Spain in the
administration of football has started yielding results as no fewer
than 10 leagues across Africa have already signified interest to
come and understudy the Nigerian LMC.
Dikko however appealed for the support of everybody to ensure
that Nigerian football was developed to its full
potentials.vanguard
