The family of late Kaduna State governor, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, has
written an appreciation to governor Nasir El-Rufai for renaming Kafanchan
General hospital after the late governor.
Late Yakowa died in a military helicopter in Bayelsa State, alongside former
chief of army staff, Gen. Andrew Azazi after attending the burial of late
Oronto Douglas’s father, who was an aide to former President Goodluck
Jonathan.
In an emotional letter to governor El-Rufai on behalf of the family, dated May
27th, 2016, a copy obtained by journalists in Kaduna, wife of the late
governor, Dame Amina Yakowa, commended the present administration under
El-Rufai for ensuring the completion of projects initiated by late Yakowa
despite ‘paucity of funds’.
Mrs Yakowa further lauded El-Rufai’s numerous gestures towards the family
since assumption of office as the governor of the state.
The letter reads: “On behalf of my humble self and the entire Yakowa family, I
write to sincerely thank you and the Kaduna State government for the honour
you have bestowed on my late husband,Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa by
renaming the Kafanchan General Hospital after him in recognition of his
distinguished public service career and the selfless service he rendered to
Kaduna State, spanning over decades.
“Your Excellency Sir, may I use this opportunity to express my profound
gratitude to you in ensuring the completion of projects initiated by my late
husband despite the paucity of funds and also to thank you generally for your
numerous kind gestures towards the family since assuming office.
“You Excellency, we are indeed deeply humbled, deeply honoured and deeply
grateful to you. We pray that as you have given honour to whom its due, so
also will you be honoured now and long after you have left office by
generations yet unborn in recognition of the selfless sacrifices and efforts you
have been making in order to make Kaduna State great again.
