The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, has announced the sighting of the Ramadan
Crescent in various places in the country.
The Sarkin Muslumi, who made the announcement Sunday in Sokoto, said Monday is the first day off Ramadan signalling the commencement of the fasting season observed by over 1.2 billion Muslims all over the world marked by intense
prayer, dawn-to-dusk fasting and good deeds .
