Edwin Clark disagrees with Sen Adamu on Niger Delta Avengers
Niger Delta elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, yesterday, responded to an
allegation by a former governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Abdullahi Adamu,
on the activities of the Niger Delta Avengers.
Adamu had in an interview with a private television station expressed
reservations on the “lackadaisical attitude” of Niger Delta leaders, in quelling the
bombing of oil installations.
However, Clark, in a statement by his legal aide, Barrister Oludotun Sowemimo,
faulted the claim, saying he had on many occasions cautioned the perpetrators.
“It is on record that Chief Clark on 17th May, 2016, strongly called and
appealed to the Niger Delta Avengers, and any other groups of like mind, to
desist, forthwith, from their activities and embrace dialogue,” he said.
